We are helping to gather and contribute turtle identification in the Maldives. To date, we have sighted 17 turtles that were yet to be included in the list. You can help too by taking photos of turtles that you may spot while snorkeling or diving. Be sure to try and photograph both their left & right sides for full ID purposes.
Global Month of Service - Closing event. Hadahaa team visited Maamendhoo school to spend an afternoon with the community, sharing on the importance of keeping our oceans clean & preserving our reefs . Together, we watched a video on the harmful impacts of ocean plastics & wastes, followed by a thorough public beach clean up.
Global Month of Service - Island Clean Up and Back of House Painting. Held over 2 days, we gathered the team and spent the afternoon clearing the island of any rubbish. We filled bags with discarded plastic bottles, slippers & boxes that were brought in by the currents. We crawled under villas & jetties and into the bushes to make sure that there were no trash as well . On the second day of keeping our home clean, we got together and repainted the exterior walls of our accommodation areas. Armed with a variety of brushes and rollers, it was a fun filled afternoon honing our painting skills. Thank you team for your support and teamwork!
Global Month of Service - In its 8th year, Hyatt dedicates the entire month of April to contribute back to our communities. April is also Autism Awareness Month and the team at Hadahaa, with some of our guests, participated in our Run for Autism event held on 11 April. Despite the rain, it didn't deter us from running laps around the island where $5 was contributed for each run around the island. The money raised will be donated to Maldives Autism Association to help improves lives that are affected by this disability, so thank you everyone for your support!
Lords of the Wedding Rings Part 3 - They did it again! The team at Blue Journeys can certainly add wedding ring finders to their skills set. A couple that stayed with us recently lost their wedding ring somewhere around their villa. While the inside of the villa was being checked by the villa host, Riff from our Blue Journeys team scoured the lagoon surrounding the guests' villa and amazingly, he found the ring! Thank you Riff and the team at Blue Journeys for being our very own treasure hunters. *stock image

Crown of Thorns Starfish is a carnivorous predator that preys on reef coral polyps. An outbreak of these could cause severe damage to a reef. If you are out snorkeling or diving and come across these starfish, do not touch or attempt to remove them as they are venomous. Let our team at Blue Journeys know where you spotted them and we will have them removed.
