For the Navajo, hózhó expresses the intellectual notion of order, the emotional state of happiness, the physical state of health, the moral condition of good, and the aesthetic dimension of harmony. Restoring hózhó is at the core of Amangiri Spa signature treatments. @jenelleparis #Amangiri #AmanResorts #AmanWellness
Seen from the air, the rugged landscape of the great American Southwest takes on a hypnotic, haunting beauty, as though exploring the surface of a distant world. Early in the morning, hot-air balloons launch directly from Amangiri, giving guests chance to take the sublime desert geology from on high.
Tranquility Base, Arizona is a forgotten piece of history. The astronauts of the Apollo 11 mission prepared their groundbreaking voyage in the rugged canyons, craters and lava fields near Flagstaff, AZ. One important area of training was Meteor Crater; studying this 50,000 year-old formation helped prepare the astronauts to identify impact craters they would encounter on the Moon.
You will always remember how you felt the first time you saw the Grand Canyon. Words can hardly express the sense of awe, the raw power of the void pulling you over the edge and the feeling of your own cosmic insignificance in front of such grandeur. #Amangiri #AmanAdventures #GrandCanyon100 Gary Ladd Photography

A very rare sighting of the elusive jackalope at #Amangiri. Native to the American West, jackalopes (scientific name: Lepus antilocapra) can grow horns up to 12 inches and run at ground speeds approaching 60 miles per hour. Their ability to mimic any human voice as well as the sounds of other animals makes them notoriously difficult to catch. Jackalopes only mate during high electrical storms, hence the rarity of this species. #AmanResorts #AmanNature
