One of the most interesting features of an elephant is its trunk. An elephants trunk is both an upper lip and an extension of the nose with two nostrils running through the whole length. An elephant's trunk contains approximately 100,000 muscles. The prehensile trunk is also used for trumpeting, drinking and grabbing objects, in addition to functioning as a nose. African elephants feature two finger-like protrusions at the end of their trunks, while Asian elephants have just one.

Located about an hour from our resort, we recommended you to include this visit while you discover the beautiful area of Chiang Rai.
🐘 Elephants have a few ways to stay cool🌡The principal ones are ear-flapping, which creates a breeze, and bathing, which cools the pachyderms when the water evaporates from their skin. Together with these tricks, the skin hot spots allow the animals to keep their body temperature constant at about 36 degrees C – one degree less than humans 😊
